Meet, Nikki!
Nikki is the Director and Principal Occupational Therapist of Empowering Minds OT.
Nikki is a kind and caring Mental Health Occupational Therapist with 8+ years of experience working with families and young people. She has experience working in various sectors, including public and private. Prior to starting her own business, Nikki worked at the Westmead Children’s Hospital as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the Psychological Medicine department.
She is passionate about supporting families and young children with Autism & ADHD. She enjoys working with families to understand the behaviour and needs of the child and identify strategies and supports for the child to flourish.
Nikki is also experienced in working with teenagers & young adults with Autism and ADHD, in particular those that have been late-diagnosed. Nikki supports young adults to understand themselves and their diganosis better, learn different skills and strategies to make daily life easier, as well as working towards goals that are meaningful for them.
Nikki has undergone various training, including Family Therapy, Circle of Security, Sensory Modulation, Theraplay Level 1 and Animal-Assisted Therapy.
Meet, Ollie!
Ollie is a friendly and loving chocolate Labradoodle. He is an accredited Therapy Dog and has received his training through Therapy Dogs Australia.
Ollie enjoys greeting clients in the waiting room and sitting at their feet during therapy sessions. Ollie has a very calm nature and people are often relaxed by his presence. He enjoys showing off his tricks and getting lots of pats!
Ollie works alongside Nikki on most Fridays.
