Late diagnosed women, girls and young people
The Why
Women and girls are consistently under and mis-diagnosed as they don’t match the male outdated male prototype and often internalise many of their struggles.
Typically what shows up instead:
Inattentive-type ADHD
Quietly overwhelmed, easily distracted, disorganised and often carrying years of anxiety and self-doubt
Autistic camouflaging
Masking, scripting, perfectionism & holding it together in public and crumbling in private
Sensory overwhelm, shutdowns, and burnout
Co-occurring mental health issues
Anxiety, depression, eating disorders and post-natal mental health issues
Chronic pain and chronic illness
Escalations around transitions
Starting high school, university, first job, becoming a parent
What I offer
Pre functional assessment and sensory profiling “I think I could be”: Women and young people considering or preparing for a diagnostic assessment of ASD/ADHD
Post-diagnosis “now what?” Adults and adolescents newly identifying with ADHD, autism or both (AuADHD) - executive functioning coaching, sensory regulation strategies, energy management, burn out recovery, interoception & unmasking
Family & parent support: Parent, partners and carers of late-identified neurodivergent people, and neurodivergent parents themselves
Reports for NDIS or supporting reasonable adjustments for school, study or work
Collaborative care with your GP, Psychiatrist, Psychologist or your Paediatrician to both compliment and extend your existing supports
How I work
Neuro-affirming, trauma-informed care
A strengths-based approach that helps you understand your unique brain and work with it, not against it.
Assessment and therapy tailored to girls and women
Including an understanding of hormones — and how your menstrual cycle, pregnancy, postpartum, or perimenopause can shape your symptoms in ways that have been overlooked for too long.
Flexible sessions in a sensory-considerate environment
Meet me where you're most comfortable — telehealth from home, or a warm clinic space in Newcastle with the gentle support of a therapy dog.
Goals centred on what matters to you
We work on the things you're feeling stuck with — in the areas of life that matter most to you, not anyone else.
There’s no need to mask here.
